"Night Bonanza"
This painting was done for the annual 2002 AOPA Christmas Card Collection. It shows a classic 1949 vee-tail Bonanza on top of the clouds flying into a sunset with the twinkling lights of a town below. Cards are available through AOPA only.

This picture takes place at one of the many small American airports that were scattered across the country during of the heyday of General Aviation. It depicts the ubiquitous Cessna 150 trainer during a low, short, unsteady approach for a student pilot's first solo landing. The instructor stands by nervously observing.
